Three poster exhibitions and the ASL Network dinner were the highlights of our participation in the 24th ISMRM Annual Meeting in Singapore.
The 24th annual meeting of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) took place from May 7th to 13th in the Suntec Convention & Exhibition Center in Singapore. This amazing city was a perfect location for the ISMRM, which is the worldwide leading MRI community for clinicians and researches, to share latest advances in MRI and form a strong network to bring new ideas into clinical routine.
We at mediri GmbH could not miss the opportunity to show our recent work in several MRI-based projects. First, during the Spine, MRA & Other Clinical Neuro Applications session, Dr. Johanna Kramme presented the poster "Quality assessment of a semi-automated spinal disc volume segmentation", this work evaluates the reliability of a semi-automated spinal disc volume-segmentation method based on the interpolation of a reduced number of delineated regions of interest, in a lumbar herniated disc study. Likewise, the ePoster “Simultaneous Multi-Slice Acquisition with Multi-Contrast Segmented EPI for Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced Imaging” by Klaus Eickel showed how the application of simultaneous multi-slice imaging to perfusion imaging allows the acquisition of multiple contrasts while retaining sufficient temporal resolution and spatial coverage. Finally, Dr. Ina Kompan's poster during the Image Reconstruction: Post-Cartesian session titled "Phase correction in the Presence of Gradient Delays for 3D Radial Data" described a novel method for phase correction which has been shown to reduce the artifacts associated to this non-cartesian acquisition technique.
On May 8th, previous to the scientific sessions of ISMRM, mediri GmbH sponsored the – by now traditional - ASL Network dinner. An event that brings together the worldwide ASL community. This year about 70 researchers and clinicians joined the social event to share ideas, discuss developments in ASL and plan future projects. We would like to thank all the participants for the fantastic evening. We are looking forward to see you next year!
