App and Wearable Ultrasound Device for more effective physiotherapy
Under the direction of Fraunhofer IBMT and together with Charité Berlin, FUSE-AI, DITABIS and PREMA Seconductors, we are developing a portable ultrasound device that measures muscle activity during back training in physiotherapy.
An app evaluates the image data in real time and AI-supported and thus provides direct information about the accuracy of the training efforts. The target group are patients with chronic back pain. Often the muscles in the lower back area need to be strengthened. However, since these are not consciously contracted under normal circumstances, the training is perceived as challenging. A direct feedback that analyzes and classifies the muscle effort can lead to higher training success and faster pain relief.
